俄罗斯是大国。大，首先体现在领土面积大，1709.82万平方公里的领土横跨欧亚大陆；大又体现在耕地面积大，121.78万平方公里可耕地面积位居世界前列；大还体现在农业实力大，基于自然条件和国家政策支持，俄现已成为全球农业大国，在国际市场尤其是粮食市场获得了不容小觑的影响力。
南京大学经济学系于1978年恢复建系，设有2个本科专业：经济学、财政学。4个硕士专业：政治经济学、国民经济学（投资经济方向）、西方经济学、数量经济学以及理论经济学一级学科博士授权点和理论经济学博士后流动站。
