世界经济格局问题，是世界经济研究领域的重要课题之一，对这个问题的探讨，无疑是认识世界经济基本状况及其特点的一个途径。世界经济格局是随着世界经济的形成才出现的，它又随着世界经济的发展而变化。从19世纪初期至70年代，是世界经济基本形成阶段，也是世界经济格局开始出现的时期，这时的世界经济格局，是以英国作为世界经济的唯一中心并在世界经济中拥有霸权地位为特征的单极格局。这些正是本文将要论述的内容。
