中国保险监督管理委员会（简称中国保监会）成立于1998年11月18日，是国务院直属事业单位。根据国务院授权履行行政管理职能，依照法律、法规统一监督管理全国保险市场，维护保险业的合法、稳健运行。2003年，国务院决定，将中国保监会由国务院直属副部级事业单位改为国务院直属正部级事业单位，并相应增加职能部门、派出机构和人员编制。

美国寿险管理学会成立于1924年，是一家国际保险和金融服务公司的学会。现有180多名专家雇员，拥有多年的保险经验。LOMA现有1000多家会员公司，分布在世界上60多个国家和地区。在北美，LOMA的会员公司占寿险业资产的95%。在国际上，几乎所有世界上最大的保险公司都是LOMA的会员。一些世界上最有权威的咨询公司、信息技术公司、大学、专业学会也都是LOMA的会员。
美国保险数据管理学会成立于1984年，是美国一个独立的非盈利性专业组织。学会的宗旨是“促进保险数据管理领域的专业化水平”。在学会的章程中是这样规定的：达到这个目的的主要手段是教育。为发展保险统计、数据管理，以及数据质量的专业化水平学会将设计一套课程。课程用于测试学员的专业化程度，一旦通过所有课程，学会将向该学员颁发职业证书。
